Lankenau Institute for Medical Research
Founded in 1927, the Lankenau Institute for Medical Research is an independent, nonprofit biomedical research center located in suburban Philadelphia on the campus of the Lankenau Hospital. Part of the Main Line Health System, LIMR is one of the few freestanding, hospital associated medical research centers in the nation. Built in 1992, our current facility houses a total of over 85 individuals including 18 principal investigators. Our faculty, under the direction of George C. Prendergast, PhD, is dedicated to advancing an understanding of the causes of cancer and cardiovascular disease in an effort to improve patient diagnosis, develop better treatments, and find new ways to prevent these diseases.
