Catalytic Enantioselective Silylations of Alcohols

Boston College
posted on 07/09/2009

This invention provides methods, compounds and systems for direct asymmetric silylation of a substrate to provide enantiomerically enriched silylated products. This invention also features novel catalysts. The key advancement is the ability to bypass entirely the need to access these chiral materials through acylated intermediates.

Suggested Uses

• Highly useful as a synthetic method to those involved in complex molecule total synthesis

Advantages

• There are no readily accessible catalytic methods to carry out the silylation reaction with control over absolute stereochemistry
• Ability to bypass the need to access chiral materials through acyl intermediates.
