The
current invention provides methods of modulating the insulin/IGF pathway
to treat symptoms related to
aging.
Features
·
Reduces symptoms of
aging
Background
Glucose
and lipid homeostasis is maintained in higher organisms through the
insulin/IGF pathway. Substances that decrease insulin signaling and thus
inhibit stem cell aging are useful for promoting tissue healing, repair,
and regeneration, slowing the aging of tissues and organs, as anti-cancer
therapeutics, and as anti-obesity and anti-diabetes therapeutics. The
current invention provides methods of modulating the insulin pathway to
treat symptoms of aging.
