The Children's Mercy Hospital
The Children’s Mercy Hospital, Kansas City
The mission of the Office of Technology Development is to protect and help market those Hospital innovations for which intellectual property is likely to play a significant role in commercial development for delivery to society, to identify potential partners, to negotiate licenses and partnering agreements involving that IP, and to assist Hospital researchers and their industry colleagues in formalizing collaborations.
As an important corollary, the Office engages in outreach activities to help Hospital investigators better understand the interplay between research and intellectual property. We encourage researchers to contact us whenever it seems that their investigations are on a path toward an innovation for which further development and delivery to society requires intellectual property protection or collaborations with industry.
