Multi-focal Lens for Imaging
Detailed Description
Invention:
A unique multi-focal lens including two different optical pathways: one pathway for high spatial resolution, high-magnification imaging, and the other pathway for low magnification, low spatial resolution imaging but with large field of view.
The lens was designed for inclusion in a micro-endoscope that is capable of both typical endoscopic low magnification, wide-field views, and high magnfication, small-field views, without needing to change lenses or have any moving parts in the objective. The lens has been developed as part of Cornell's larger effort to develop medical applications of multiphoton microscopy.
