Duquesne University of the Holy Spirit
Duquesne University is one of the top 10 research universities in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania with research programs in the basic sciences and allied health sciences. With over 900 full and part-time faculty and more than 10,000 students, Duquesne University has a well deserved reputation for excellence in education and scholarship.
Duquesne University supports over 40 academic centers for education, collaborative research and economic and community development. Research centers include Centers for Pharmaceutical Technology, Nursing Research, Computational Chemistry, Biotechnology, and Environmental Research and Education. The University commitment to economic development includes a significant effort to stimulate the translation of knowledge into beneficial products through the technology transfer process managed within the Office of Research.
The Office of Research promotes the translation of basic science discoveries at Duquesne University into new technologies by working with faculty to disclose and protect their discoveries, technology marketing, and the negotiation of licenses The Office also manages collaborative research agreements and supports the start-up of new companies based around Duquesne technology.
