The University commitment to economic development includes a significant effort to stimulate the translation of knowledge into beneficial products through the technology transfer process managed within the Office of Research.

The Office of Research promotes the translation of basic science discoveries at Duquesne University into new technologies by working with faculty to disclose and protect their discoveries, technology marketing, and the negotiation of licenses The Office also manages collaborative research agreements and supports the start-up of new companies based around Duquesne technology.
