Applications
Treatment of cancer, inflammation, and related disorders; chemotherapy.
Technical Summary
This invention describes a group of compounds that block tumor angiogenesis and growth without exhibiting a high level of toxicity with regard to normal vascular endothelial cells. The anti-angiogenic and anti-tumor compounds of this invention can be useful in the treatment of any condition benefiting from angiogenesis inhibition, such as cancer and chronic inflammation. In addition, the analogs may be useful for therapy of restenosis that occurs following angioplasty and stent deployment, diabetic retinopathy and other diseases that are caused by aberrant growth of the blood vessels. We anticipate receiving broad patent coverage to pharmaceutical compositions and methods for treatment of cancer.
