posted on 09/29/2010

The Learning Asset Technology Integration Support Tool (LATIST) is a simple and just-in-time, patent-pending decision support tool which provides users with a framework to make smart technology choices through its three components, Explore Research, Select Best Technology, and Apply Technology.  This tool allows the teacher or trainer to choose distance education tools that are most suited to various real world constraints.  In the end, the tool, in boosting the power of learning assets, contributes to the creations of a more capable work force.

  • Select Explore Research to research the advantages, disadvantages and best practices of existing learning technologies such as PodCasts, Blogs, Wikis, Games and Mobile Technologies

  • Select Best Technology to further explore technologies based upon specific constraints.  This function allows the ability to select appropriate technologies based on specific learning objectives and instructional strategies, and to evaluate their feasibility based on factors such as budget and bandwidth.

  • Apply Technology provides a demo and practice area, as well as an example of the technology in use in government and other settings.
