posted on 01/12/2006
Use of a resistor chip-loaded microstrip has been established as a way to make a microstrip antenna have larger bandwidth. It is known that selective use of a lossy substrate can have similar effect. This invention is to use a lossy substrate along the radiating edge(s) of the microstrip antenna to achieve the same affect as a resistor.
