Portable Mydriatic Cameras
Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary
posted on 01/07/2009
Patent covers a number of different designs that allow the inexpensive configuration of existing equipment with a novel coupling mechanism. Inexpensive, portable, easy to use mydriatic fundus photographs (ophthalmic imaging) can now be easily obtained in a physician’s office, cramped operating room, or research space (places that existing equipment is undesireable, unavailable, or difficult or impractical to access). Anterior and/or posterior segment images can be obtained using standard film or digital cameras without the need for additional specialist equipment, requiring limited additional cost, training, effort.
