Innovation Details

Detailed Description

EthosGen's proprietary and patented technology produces and processes biomass in Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA or "greenhouse") to create direct-sugar substrates and cellulose. The optimal conditions within CEA allow EthosGen to incubate, stabilize and extract soluble sugar substrates and biomass by-product. The direct-sugar substrates created by EthosGen can be directly converted into various biofuels (ethanol, biodiesel, green gasoline and jet fuel) using industry best-of-breed methods including fermentation, distillation, catalysis, enzymatic/bacteria, synthetic biology, and non-photosynthetic algae conversion technologies. These technologies share the need for an economically and environmentally sustainable feedstock. By producing CEA soluble substrates on-site it significantly reduces cost, energy and logistics cost of biomass from waste streams and traditional agriculture. EthosGen's processing technology produces a robust, consistent and uniform source of biomass cellulose. This cellulose can be utilized to produce a liquid or high BTU solid biofuel for the production of heat and electricity. The biomass also provides value as a material component in various products including "green" fiber, composites, bioplactics, and chemicals.
