A school-based asthma condition and medication compliance monitoring system for children.
Suggested Uses
Poor compliance with prescribed preventive anti-inflammatory medication complicates asthma condition in children, especially in urban schools. This invention helps school nurses and administrators implement directly observed therapy in schools with central communication through a web-based system.
Advantages
The SB-PACT system allows direct communication between the school nurses, administrators, parents, the primary care providers and the central asthma coordinator to ensure adequate treatment, including dose adjustments. The system facilitates screening and monitoring for asthma and compliance with prescribed treatment, substantially improving care and significantly reducing morbidity. The system also provides appropriate Asthma Reports to all parties for immediate feedback.
