posted on 10/05/2011
This invention relates to facilitating the application of perineal pressure during the anastamotic portion of the rapidly growing minimally invasive robotic prostectomy. It is also sometimes a critical part of the uretheral-to-bladder reconstruction. Currently, such pressure is applied manually by an assistant in a way that is difficult, awkward and ineffective.
Advantages
This invention is a simple and cost effective solution to ensure application of consistent pressure with ease, consistency and compatibility with the robotic surgical system.
