A series of novel fluorinated kinase inhibitors that can be used in cell cycle suppression in vulnerable neurons
Suggested Uses
• Developing drug candidates
Advantages
• Convenient synthesis
• Economic synthesis
• Relatively nontoxic materials involved
Detailed Description
The invention describes a compound that has inhibitory effects comparable to state of the art cell cycle suppressing agents. The amyloid beta-induced toxicity that results in cell cycle re-entry in Alzheimer’s disease neurons is ameliorated significantly in the presence of this inhibitor. The effect is comparable to that of Roscovitine and Flavopiridol. This compound is expected to be relatively nontoxic and may be a potential alternative to the existing drugs for treating neurological disorders. It may also be useful, along with related versions, in the treatment of cancer and related pathologies.
