posted on 06/30/2009
This invention relates to a method of treating diseases characterized by excessive cell growth by co-administering one or more retinoids with one or more estradiol metabolites or methoxyestrones.
Suggested Uses
Treatment for:
- Diseases of excessive cell growth
- Cardiovascular diseases
- Renal diseases, cancer
- Skin diseases
- Pulmonary diseases
- Pulmonary hypertension
- Diseases of excessive vascular smooth muscle cell growth
- Diseases of excessive fibroblast cell growth
Advantages
- Combination of methoxyestradiol with retinoic acid synergistically increases activity and increases efficacy
- Estradiol metabolites retain little estrogenic activity and are therefore believed to be safe
