Innovation Details

Detailed Description

The availability of a mutant NET that is lacking responsiveness to Calcium and Calcium-linked kinases is envisaged as a novel tool in the screening for novel NET modulators that may influence NET regulation through this pathway. Screens could be conducted using wildtype and mutant NET in parallel to identify molecules selectively supporting regulation through this site to either up or down-regulate NET. Additionally, stable cells and transgenic mice can be engineered to express the mutant NET and allow for studies of calcium-linked NET regulation and its physiological consequences in vitro and in vivo.
