Method for Pathway Level Analysis

Case ID:

07-854

Description:

Sorin Draghici

Director, Intelligent Systems and Bioinformatics Laboratory

Department of Computer Science @ Wayne State University

Background:

A common hurdle in the analysis of genomics data is trying to understand the underlying processes in the context of all the complex interactions taking place on various signaling pathways. A Wayne State University researcher has developed a new method for pathway analysis. The new technique leverages statistical methodology to construct various models and identify the most relevant pathway in a given experiment.

Competitive Advantage:

·         This approach calculates an impact factor (IF) for each pathway incorporating parameters

Commercial Applications:

Possible commercial uses include:

·         Useful in all high throughput genomics experiments
