p-neo-LoxP Plasmid

Washington University in St. Louis
posted on 01/03/2007

We are offering a cloning vector containing a pgk-neo cassette flanked by 2 LoxP sites. When used in conjunction with the cre-recombinase, the vector allows for the removal of the pgk-neo cassette.

Suggested Uses

When used in conjunction with the cre-recombinase, the vector allows for the removal of the pgk-neo cassette.

Advantages

This vector allows for easy cloning of targeted arms into the floxed pgk-neo containing vector and eventual removal of the selectable marker cassette, which eliminates possible expression effects on neighboring genes.

Innovation Details

Detailed Description

Technology Description:The current technology describes a cloning vector containing a pgk-neo cassette flanked by 2 LoxP sites. The vector also contains a phosphoglycerate kinase promoter and a bovine growth hormone polyadenylation signal. When used in conjunction with the cre-recombinase, the vector allows for the removal of the pgk-neo cassette.

Advantage:This vector allows for easy cloning of targeted arms into the floxed pgk-neo containing vector and eventual removal of the selectable marker cassette, which eliminates possible expression effects on neighboring genes.
